KARBON TRACK is a platform that allows you to calculate the indirect emissions of the carbon footprint of any logistics project, including all operations related to the transportation and distribution of goods carried out by third parties.
Through the platform, you can obtain detailed reports of the environmental impact of all logistics flows carried out by your company. KARBON TRACK allows you to break down the calculation by type of transport: air, land, maritime, and rail to obtain very precise data for each shipment.
Additionally, we offer the possibility to calculate indirect emissions related to storage in relation to the number of movements needed for each good.
KARBON TRACK provides the specific carbon footprint of any logistic project in accordance with the EMEP/EEA Air pollutant emission inventory guidebook and in compliance with the ISO. 14064–3:2019.

HOW DO WE CALCULATE THE FOOTPRINT?
Fuel consumption calculations are transformed into emissions of different greenhouse gases (GHG) through emission factors that depend in each case on the technology or type of source in which they are generated. The EMEP/EEA methodology determines the following gases:

Nitrous oxide (N2O)
Subsequently, all emissions are converted into tons of CO2 equivalent using characterization factors.

To ensure the reliability and accuracy of the calculation, the methodology of calculation is verified by Lloyd’s Register.
WHY TO CALCULATE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT?
Measuring environmental impact is the first step that every company needs to take to understand its greenhouse effect and thus initiate appropriate actions to reduce its carbon footprint.
In addition, according to the new Law 7/2021 on Climate Change and Energy Transition of RD163/2012 of March 14th, the calculation of the carbon footprint and its annual review will become mandatory in the coming months.
